Take it to the Wire

Talk about taking it to the wire. Whilst the presidential candidates criss crossed the States, our very own American, Marjorie, criss crossed Lille to be with us for today's presidential vote.   In true off the cuff, 'Go for it' Imim style, the idea for today's meeting was born out of a midnight discussion, Sunday, with Imim's  Marjorie van Halteren.  How to mark what promised to be a historic day on more than one level, at extremely short notice?  The answer was an illustrated lunchtime talk, sandwich optional, around today's voting.  After stating her own political colours, Marjorie gave us an insider's view on why people vote republican.... or democratic and what the key issues in the race really were and really weren't.  It was a highly personal take on the day and all the more fascinating for it.   For those who missed the presentation, we'll put on another one come the results.  In the meantime, if you want to play political strategist or try your hand at political Sudoku, check out the NY Times interactive electoral states map .  Swing voters may prefer  ".. Takin'it back with Barack, Jack", see below, two sites mentioned during the presentation.  For those who can't wait until tomorrow morning, stay ahead with  up to the minute results here!
