Another brick in the wall
Saturday saw the presentations for Pécébat. I spent the morning as a silent observer and it was fascinating. I was genuinely impressed by the overall quality of the presentations and the level of work prepared in such a relatively short period of time. What was also impressive was the general attitude. Despite this being the final class of the academic year for most, students were extremely smart, in business suits and with a calm, professional air that hid the fact that some were stressed and many hadn't slept much, if at all. The cohesiveness of a team and individual body language underlined the subtle shift in mindset that sets in around this time of the year. We are now a week away from end of year exams and then an internship. The people I saw Saturday were not so much students as business professionals. The brief feedback I had on the morning confirmed this. In addition to the number crunching and critical analysis, there was some good lateral thinking and creative solutions. One such idea was to create a tourist attraction via a museum. Another focussed on the architecture of the brick. Have a good summer. Semper Imim!
