John McCain has finally announced his running mate, Sarah Palin. - Sarah who?
The hottest search on Google yesterday revealed a young, mid forties, mother of five and governor of Alaska. An interesting choice, 'Super Mom' or 'Hockey Mom' as some media have already named her, she ostensibly ticks all the right boxes; female (targets the Hilary vote), young (counters Obama's youth USP), dynamic (used to get up at dawn to go moose hunting with her father) and yet.... Closer scrutiny reveals a Cheney like hawk with fairly traditional views.
It will be interesting to see how things develop over the next week.
